Stannard was a lithographic printer who retired to Oxford where he lived under the name of Harry Sanders. He wrote an encyclopaedic book on printing methods known as the ‘Art Exemplar, a guide to distinguish one species of print from another’, of which only some 10 copies were published. The contents list fifty-five printing processes; the section devoted to anaglyptography is here reprinted. |
